Bell Automotive's roots are in automotive. In the late 1940’s in a small garage in Bell, California, Roy Richter began selling auto parts. Richter had a passion for racing, and in 1954, he designed and constructed the most protective auto-racing helmet in the world. Bell became a leader in safety equipment for auto racing, motorcycling and then bicycling. Richter's legacy lives on today in Bell's commitment to racing, quality and innovation.
