The World Footbag Association (WFA) was founded in May 1983 as the sport's promotional arm and official players' organization. Since then, their mission has expanded to embrace goals of a more universal nature, promoting health, self-esteem, sharing, communication, and cooperation through the sport of footbag.Their international membership of 64,000 currently spans 45 countries and is growing at a rate of nearly 500 new members each month. Responsible for hundreds of promotions each year, the WFA's efforts include tournaments, training camps, festivals, player workshops, and performances of every magnitude.
