How to Select a Watch

Thousands of years ago people had to estimate the time by observing the suns position in the sky. While that would be fun, we no longer need to resort to guessing when we have thousands of different watches available to us. A watch is an item that tells the time, while being small and convenient so it can be carried on your person throughout daily and strenuous activities. While all watches tell time, there are so many different kinds you can select. With so many different features available to you, it is important to consider all of the options before you decide on your next watch purchase. This watch buying guide is designed to do just that, give you all the options and let you select which one best meets your needs.

Analog Watches vs Digital Watches

Answering the Analog vs Digital watch question is on of the most important things to do before looking for a watch. Watches are generally split into these two categories and by deciding which one you prefer you can narrow your choices by half.

Analog Watches

Analog watches tell time through the continuous motion of two or three varying sized hands. The hands move in a clockwise motion and are categorized by a skinny long hand for the seconds, a fat long hand for the minutes, and a short stubby hand for the hours. These watches are preferred by many people because of their elegant and classic look, as well as not having to rely on something failing in the digital inner workings and stopping the watch.

Digital Watches

Digital watches are run via batteries and show the time on the clock via a digital readout on the watches face. This type of watch is more accurate and allows the user to know the time down to the second, along with additional functions such as stopwatches and lights for when in dark areas. Digital Watches run on a battery and can usually last a couple years before you have to exchange it.
