A canteen is a drinking water bottle designed to be used during outdoor activities such as hiking or camping to keep you hydrated. Canteens are usually fitted with a shoulder strap or carabiner for easy transport, and may be covered with a padded, cloth sleeve to protect the bottle and insulate the contents. Some canteens also include a nested canteen cup.
