I have used this parang on my tree branches. It was really fun slicing through branches almost three inches thick. Yeah, a little elbow grease had to be used but the blade still easily got the job done. There is a comfortable strap at the end of the handle that loosens and tightens to the wrist. This is extremely useful to ensure the blade does not slip out of the hand. I also took it hiking with me, but the trail was kept up really well so I did not get the chance to use it in the outdoors.

This was beyond my expecations! I own the BG ultimate knife as well as the folding sheath, both were home runs! I figured this "parang" would be just another Machete. Most are unweildly to use, poorly balanced, dull pieces of stamped metal. This "Parang" goes way beyond expectations. The unit is VERY well balanced! The edge is good right out of the box with the exception of the final 4 inches near the end of the blade which needed some work. The handle is exceptionally comfortable even with heavy use. Honestly, I used it in my yard(no jungle in central Ill.) The sheath is worth mentioning as well. It is very well made and balances the knife quite well when on your belt. I am thrilled mith my purchase. Very well done
