The Shrade OTF assisted opening knife, as opposed to an automatic knife, is not opened by pressing an activating button, it is opened by pushing up on the slider, located near the base of the handle. Now, the difference between an automatic front opening knife and this spring assisted out the front is that once you have started the opening of the blade, an internal spring finishes the opening process.

The handle of the Shrade OTF spring assisted knife features grey or black, textured Zytel plates, providing, not only a secure, comfortable grip, but also minimal reflected light and glare. The 3" drop point blade has been coated with black titanium nitride, making this a great covert/black-ops tool.
